House votes on “war on coal”

The House voted (233-175) on Friday to pass the “Stop the War on Coal” Act. The vote was largely along party lines, however, 19 Democratic members did vote with the Republican majority to help pass the act.

Not surprisingly, the legislation is expected to go nowhere in the Democratically-controlled Senate and President Obama has promised to veto the legislation if it makes it through Senate.
