Alex Epstein (@Alexepstein) Founder of the Center for Industrial Progress will give the keynote presentation at the 2014 Coal Market Strategies Conference (August 11-13, 2014 in Park City, Utah at the Stein Eriksen Lodge). Be sure to attend to be one of the first to learn about his new book, The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels!

An avid and innovative champion of fossil fuels, Alex has defended their economic and environmental benefits in debates against , Greenpeace, 350.org’s Bill McKibben, and the Sierra Club. Alex’s writings and views on fossil fuels have been covered and published in hundreds of publications, ranging from the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and the New York Times to Rolling Stone. He engages with many constituencies on the economic and environmental benefits of fossil fuels, including university students, having spoken at Stanford, Duke, Rice, UCLA and others.

In the conclusion of American Coal Council’s recent comments to EPA on its proposed carbon rule for new fossil plants, we posed a question to those who frame climate change action on the basis of a moral imperative. Our question was “Where is the moral imperative to provide reliable, affordable energy and good jobs in America?” Alex, a philosopher by training and the author of Fossil Fuels Improve the Planet, will address this and other key energy policy questions and advocacy strategies, as well as preview his soon-to-be released book in this Keynote Address.
