Platte River coal plant receives national honor
Congratulations to ACC member company, Platte River Power Authority, for having the Rawhide Energy Station Unit 1 named the “best-utilized U.S. coal-fired power plant” in the nation.
Electric Light & Power (EL&P), ranked the electricity provider’s Rawhide Energy Station Unit 1, a coal-fired power plant, the best-utilized U.S. coal-fired power plant. The plant’s capacity factor in 2013 was 95.9 percent, compared to a national average of 57.6 percent. More than 700 U.S. coal-fired plants were included in the analysis.
